Your engine temperature sensor is responsible for relaying your engine temp to the ECU. Once the temp gets so hot, the ECU commands the radiator fan to come on. If your Focus has a bad engine temp sensor the radiator fan won’t know to come on, because the ECU won’t know how hot the engine is. You’ll need to locate and test the engine temp

The aircon is not working I have topped it up and it shows pressure but the compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. I have checked fuses and they are ok. Is there anything I have missed. Tried a new battery, tried bending the contacts to the battery up a bit..nothing. Just got home. After I got out of my car, I tried it again, still didn't work.
